Our NALA project, funded by the National Institutes of Health, is seeking to understand the short and long-term effect of delated umbilical cord clamping on infant and child brain development.  Designed as a Randomised Control Trial, children were randomised at time of birth to have either immediate cord clamping or a short delay.  These children have since been followed for the past 2 or more years to investigate potential differences in brain and cognitive growth.
