Are you an undergraduate looking for a summer or term position? A prospective graduate student? A post-doctoral fellow? Or someone who just loves kids? We’d love to have you join our team.
Undergraduate Students & Interns. We’re always on the look-out for students from Engineering, Physics, Comp. Sci, Biology, Neuroscience, Statistics, and Psychology. Work within the lab can be done for credit through Brown University, URI, or Providence College, or as a paid RA. We encourage every lab member to become involved in the breadth of studies and all aspects of our research. You’ll can meet and work with children and their parents; help with recruitment; assist with MRI scanning and learn cutting edge data analysis techniques; shadow our neuropsychologists and learn how to score cognitive and behavioural evaluations; and work with other RAs on other aspects of study visits (e.g., BodPod assessments, DNA collection, etc.). Working in our group is a hands on way to learn about developmental research. You’ll also have the ability to submit and present your work at leading conferences. Send us a message and tell us a little about yourself and why you want to be involved.
Graduate Students. M.Sc. and Ph.D. students are an integral part of our lab, playing central and leading roles in our on-going studies. Students from all STEM backgrounds, as well as Psychology, Neuroscience, Physiology, and Public Health are encouraged to contact the PI (S. Deoni) to talk about available positions and project ideas.
Post-Doctoral Fellows. Post-docs from all backgrounds are welcomed with open arms! Unlike many environments, where post-docs are expected to carve out aspects of the PIs other projects, I encourage you to spread your wings and initiate your own projects. We can provide a solid foundation for an almost unlimited number of studies. If you’re looking to make your mark and begin your career, please consider the ABI lab and contact us.
Research Assistants. Professional research assistants (PRAs) are critical to the ABI lab. Here you will find independence and the ability to champion important aspects of our research studies. From being the public face of our lab at local community events and recruitment activities, to working with and running families through their study visits, our lab depends on a dedicated and talented group of PRAs. We pride ourselves not only on our science, but also our culture. One based on trust, independence, accountability, and also fun. If you’re interested in joining our gang, let us know a little about yourself!
