Bring our Lab to You
We know it’s a pain to come in to our lab for a study visit. Although we try hard to set visits around a family’s schedule, make our visits as short as possible, and reimburse you for your time and travel, it’s still a challenge to pack up yourself and your child and come in to the lab after a long work day or on the weekend. Wouldn’t it be great if the lab could come to you?
As part of this work we have begun to increase access to research by designing mobile labs built on conventional cargo vans (like a Ford Transit van) and motorhome-style RVs. Supported by the NIH, our goal is to bring our lab to your home, child’s school, or other convenient location. If you’re interested in helping us design and test this approach, please let us know! We are also working with clinical colleagues to help minimize unnecessary trips to the hospital.
The Scan-a-Van
One of mobile MRI systems built into a Ford Transit cargo van. With the ability to get anywhere, and a removable MRI system, we can come right to your front door!
